Technical Specification sheet

The drill string and downhole drilling tools are the core mechanical systems for onshore and offshore oil and gas well construction. The complete assembly consists of drill bits, bottom hole assembly (BHA), drill pipes, drill collars, stabilizers and related downhole accessories. Running from the surface drilling rig down to the bottom hole, this integrated system performs rock breaking, torque transmission, weight-on-bit delivery, drilling fluid circulation and wellbore shaping throughout the entire drilling process. It is applicable to vertical wells, deviated wells, directional wells and horizontal wells in both onshore oilfields and offshore platforms, including jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs and deepwater drillships.

Drill Bit

As the primary rock-breaking tool at the bottom of the string, the drill bit directly contacts and cuts underground formations. Common types include PDC bits and tricone roller bits. PDC bits adopt ultra-hard diamond composite cutters with high wear resistance, achieving high penetration rate in soft and medium-hard formations. Tricone bits are suitable for complex, hard and abrasive stratums with excellent impact resistance and stable drilling performance.

Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA)

The BHA is the key functional section located above the drill bit, composed of drill collars, heavy weight drill pipes, stabilizers, downhole motors and MWD/LWD instruments. It provides stable drilling weight, controls well trajectory, reduces vibration, ensures drilling verticality and supports directional drilling and precise wellbore positioning.

Drill String

The entire drill string refers to the connected tubular column including standard drill pipes and transition pipes. It undertakes multiple core tasks: transmitting rotary torque from surface equipment to the bit, bearing tension, compression and torsion loads, and forming a sealed circulation channel for drilling mud to cool the bit, carry rock cuttings and balance downhole pressure.

Application

These professional downhole drilling series products are widely applied in onshore oilfields, offshore shallow water platforms, deepwater semi-submersible rigs and drillships. They serve full-type wellbores including vertical wells, deviated wells, directional wells and horizontal wells, covering exploration drilling, development drilling, cementing preparation and well maintenance operations under various harsh working conditions.
